Our Movement

We are a global movement to radically inspire women to unapologetically be themselves, love the woman they are, and be happy with who they continue growing to be.

For us, it’s simple: When you love yourself, it will radically change your life + the world around you. And we will empower you with the tools + resources to do just that. All mixed in with a fantastic sisterhood to support you.

Invest in yourself and join us.

You are worthy of investing in yourself

Meet Our Founder

Hey Girl, Hey! was really birthed out of my own need to pour self love into myself. Like most women, I had a lot on my plate in a short amount of time: After getting my doctorate, I got married and had a baby, worked full time as a forensic psychologist in jails and prisons (which feels like it sounds lol), experienced grief from the loss of family, supported every friend through everything they were going through….then when I felt like I was starting to get a grasp on things… my marriage separated and divorced and I became a single mom. Needless to say I was exhausted, angry, sad, questioned my faith, and wondered what my purpose was. I constantly went through life with as much as an optimistic smile as I could, but really on the inside, I was struggling.

Deep down, I struggled with loving myself, crazy self-doubt, having passion for things beyond just food, setting healthy boundaries, maintaining deep/supportive friendships, motherhood, not giving up on my faith when harsh trials occur, and just being plain-ol happy. Every day was just a struggle.

I asked around and realized every twenty-something, thirty-something and forty-something woman I knew could relate…..which means I wasn’t alone in feeling that life is hard. And yes, there’s always going to be someone else who is going through much worse and has a better attitude about it (yes, my faith is talking here); but that doesn’t take away from the fact that what you go through is hard on you and affects you. So there’s no sense in comparing bad times, acting like the things you go through aren’t really bothering you, or hiding from the support you actually need.

Here’s why: If you start with the fact that life is hard for us all and add it to the fact that most women give away their best to everyone they love because we’re just nurturers like that…. well emptiness is the end result. You’ll have nothing left for yourself because…well…how could you?

I saw that I was literally empty inside and running on autopilot to make it through the days. Life was winning, instead of me winning.

I had to take a look at myself and admit a hard truth: if I don’t pour love into myself, I’ll never understand myself or feel happy. And I’m telling you the same thing right now. That relationship, job, car, friendship, money, kids, parents, book club, gold bake sale medal, MAC makeup, talent you have, or anything else you can think of won’t make you love you or feel happy about you. Nothing will take that edge off until you get real with yourself and do the work.

So, I knew there had to be a better way. A better purpose for me. A better light for myself. Re-grounding my self love was the key.

Through this journey of self love, I picked myself back up. I’m happy and finally loving who I am. I, and I alone, give myself permission to love myself, define myself, and live how I choose – every day. That feels not only freeing, but I’m in the healthiest place I’ve ever been.

I decided to document all of my best moments as a doctor, a kick ass comedian (or at least I think I’m funny), and a natural best-friend/sista-girl, into tools to help women just like you to rebuild their lives using the power of self love.

So let’s toast to loving ourselves in the way that we finally define. And let’s celebrate the fact that you’re awesome and bright enough to choose the right tools to help you get back to the real you.

I can’t wait to go on this journey with you. I know you’ll love what you hear while here.
